Steam mod download bug

Honorable Mentions, Untested Edition. I'm going to detail all the mods I have tracked down and installed for the last 3 days so that if anyone else wants to play FONV they won't have to waste so much time like I did. There are already other vanilla guides out there of course, but they haven't been updated for so long that a lot of links are broken, and some mods have been superseded by better ones later down the line.

Since I only want a vanilla experience, only bug fixes and remaster mods are included with 1 exception: Better Pickup Prompt. I will explain why later.

I recommend using Mod Organizer 2 [www. TL;DR: Here's the final list of mods. LMDShow calvo 4 Feb am. There's only 1 version and that's the. I use MO2 to install it, but I guess you can do it manually you shouldn't, since you can't roll back that way. Hey, it seems Vanilla UI Plus has a plugin esp now. Should I use that? Petard Hoister 20 Aug, pm. Just wanted to say that this is truly great, and I highly recommend it for any players who are either 1 totally new to the game or 2 like me, have played it since launch but have spent so many years with it heavily modified that getting back to the vanilla game is a breathe of fresh air from "realistic damage" mods and mods that add truck loads of content that are great but that can distract you from enjoying the great plot build up of the original game.

Yaroshka 31 Mar, am. I don't use Unofficial Patch NVSE, therefore, I asked about the fix, if you still have it please re-upload it to some kind of file hosting.

Yaroshka 30 Mar, am. I played on Windows 10 and didn't encounter any problems. For others, the author of NVSR made a sticky post outlining ini configs that can be disabled if an issue arises. NVTF's description even said that it's a stripped down version, and in my opinion taking a chance and tinkering a bit is better than removing readily available fixes.

And it's not like everyone's using Windows 10 anyway. I even restart my PC. Still no use. It had finally sunk in that steam screwed up and I lost all the download progress. I searched all through out the web and there were a few solutions listed, but none of them seemed to work for me.

Funny thing is, there was a fix that I had thought of from the start; something very simple and obvious and should technically work. But nobody, throughout the steam forum mentioned this method. So I thought that maybe people have tried this method, but it doesn't work, and they had to do convoluted steps to trick steam to restart the download.

Problem is, in the methods people talk about, you still lose a bit of the progress from how they explained it. Like if you initially had 10GB, after their "fix", it would probably restart from 7 or 8GB which also didn't really happen for me so maybe they didn't mention all the steps to implement the fix?

Now, the fix I'm mentioning below may have been explained by someone else as well. But after searching for quite a bit, I wasn't able to find it. So duplicate or not, I thought I'll write it here and help who ever else is facing this issue. Step 1 : Backup the downloaded files. Let's say the game we're talking about is Dishonored 2, so the folder name here should be "".

Step 2 : Restart the installation process. If it doesn't, then continue with the rest of the steps. Step 3 : Replace the new downloaded files with the backed up files.

Obviously replace the files. Step 4 : Open Steam and let out a sigh of relief after you see your download progress bar back to where it was before. It would be really odd if this solution wasn't posted elsewhere.

Maybe it was posted years ago and just got lost in time and replaced by the other convoluted "fixes"? Let me know if this fix worked out for you though, or if you're having issues.

There are 2 things that I did that I didn't really mention above cause it really shouldn't matter, but my paranoid self would rather do it and work on the first go than have to possibly do the whole thing again. Before step 2 Go to your steam installation folder, and search within this folder for any files that have the app ID.

The one we found in step 1. It would be two. Delete them. Jerryn 8 Mar, am. Something that I have seen in other mods, which is a help, is a show range, either as a bubble or a line on the ground like the dino leash. IF the swarm attack u while u are near your dinos, the dino get dmg to XanModding [author] 2 Mar, pm.

The Swarm doesn't target dinos so I think there were some extenuating circumstances for why you dino got killed. Regardless I will be adding options to increase the range of the Bug Zapper and make it properly require electricity. Syclusion 1 Mar, am. Mod isn't working, or rather is working too well. The zappers don't need power to work. Jork 29 Feb, pm. Works good, thanks. Dayuppy 29 Feb, am. Share to your Steam activity feed. You need to sign in or create an account to do that.
